Billy Cook Saddles
Created from the start with the goal to be both affordable and high-quality, Billy Cook Saddles have a long history within the horse saddle and harness industry. In fact, the story dates back to 1953 when a young man by the name of Billy Cook returned home after serving his country in the Army.
Passionate about being a horseman and a saddle maker, Billy put his interests to work and opened his own saddle shop in Greenville, Texas. During his first year, he built 75 saddles. By the end of the 1950s, demand for his saddles had grown to be so high that he was producing 1,200 per year along with his partner, Potts-Longhorn. While Potts-Longhorn later experienced financial troubles, Billy continued with his operations on his own.
Today, Billy Cook Saddles continue to offer the same level of superior craftsmanship as when Billy made them himself. Each saddle is handcrafted by a professional artisan, after which it is carefully examined to ensure it offers the quality and functionality desired by those who use them. Meticulously hand tooled on sturdy saddle trees, each of the finished products within this line of saddles is stamped with a “Billy Cook Maker” makers mark, letting you know you have a genuine Billy Cook saddle.
Currently located in Sulphur, Oklahoma, Billy Cook Harness & Saddle Manufacturing, Inc. has grown to offer more than just high-quality saddles. The line of products also includes bridles, breast collars, reins, saddle bags, shirts, hoodies and other tack and accessories.
